Orange Cinnamon Cake

 Orange Cinnamon Cake

2021, a year full of intense turbulence is finally approaching its end in less than a month. The excitement of a hopefully more positive year is accompanied by the festive vibes of Christmas and celebrations and so December becomes the perfect month for inspiration and home-baked cakes. This month therefore felt like the perfect opportunity to inspire myself and to attempt new dishes. I have always shared a passion for baking and so with winter and its festivities around the corner, I decided to experiment with the flavour of orange, cinnamon and drizzled chocolate.

Christmas has a very fruity and celebratory vibe attached to it, so what better flavour to enjoy Christmas with, than the flavour of orange and cinnamon. With that in mind, I tried out this recipe that provides the intoxicating tangy flavour of oranges, slight sweet taste of cinnamon and the softness of a delicious cake baked right. I decided to make the dish a healthier alternative by adding a lot of almonds and can be used to trick our kids into eating dry fruits and add to their nutrition. I also decided to drizzle chocolate over the cake, since it provides a delicious contrast to the tangy flavour and adds to the festive look of December. This recipe is therefore a simple process that guarantees a warm cake filled with the flavour of home and celebration and can be used to have a homemade spectacular Christmas Eve with your family.

  • Now invert it on an oven rack and rest it for 30 minutes

  • Once cake is cooled, sprinkle some icing sugar on it and drizzle chocolate syrup and enjoy

As you all are aware, we are a group of bloggers, we work together in a group know as Healthy Wealthy Cuisines , and for this month we had decided that "#WinterCakeBake" would be the perfect theme to end this year with.

Tips :
  • You can have normal sugar in case brown sugar is not available
  • If yogurt is not available take a normal curd but remove the excess water from it.
