Vada Pav ( Indian Burger)

Vada Pav (Indian Burger)


Vada Pav is a special Indian burger in which spicy potato vada is served with spicy chutney in a small white bread know as Pav. It is very popular in Maharashtra. You can find vada Pav stall in every street. I usually enjoy during Sunday breakfast...

Serves : 4

Preparation Time : 10 min

Cooking Time : 20 min

Ingredients :

  • 8 Pav ( small square shape bread)
  • 1/2 Cup green chutney
For Vada :
  • 4 Boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 Teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Pinch of asafetida 
  • 1 Tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 2 Green chiles chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Cup boiled green peas
  • 1 Teaspoon turmeric powder ( haldi)
  • 1 Teaspoon chat masala powder
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh chopped coriander
  • Salt according to taste
  • Red chilly powder according to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
For Batter :
  • 1 Cup Bengal gram flour ( besan)
  • 2 Tablespoon rice flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilly powder according to taste
  • 1 Teaspoon carom seeds ( ajwain )
Oil for frying

Procedure : 
  • Heat the oil in pan and add cumin seed, pinch of asafetida, chopped green chilly, ginger garlic paste and sauté it for a minute
  • Now add chopped onions again sauté it for 2 to 3 minutes. Now add haldi ( turmeric powder ), salt, chilly powder and boiled green peas sauté this for 2 to 3 minutes


  • Now add boiled and mashed potatoes, chat masala powder and chopped coriander mix well

  • Now remove the mixture from fire and allow it to cool. Now divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape it into round

For Batter : 
  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and add water mix well and make a smooth batter

For Vada : 
  • Heat oil in kadai. Dip the potato vadas into batter and deep fry in hot oil till light golden brown
For Plating :
  • Cut the Pav from middle apply green, red chutney of your choice place vada in middle . Your vada Pav is ready serve it with a cup of tea or coffee

Tip : If you want you can grill your Vada Pav in a griller for a minute and grilled Vada Pav is ready...

Sabudana Khichadi is very easy and simple Sago snack. Perfect fasting food. Sabudana is mixed with roasted peanuts toasted with sugar, lemon and lots of  fresh coriander .....

Serves : 4

Resting Time : 3 - 4 hours

Preparation Time : 5 Min

Cooking Time : 5 - 7 Min

Ingredients :

  • 2 Cup soaked Sabudana ( sago)
  • 1/2 Cup roasted and crushed peanuts
  • 1 Teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Teaspoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice 
  • 2 Tablespoon chopped fresh coriander 
  • 2 Tablespoon Cooking oil

Procedure :
  • First of all wash Sabudana, drain it and keep aside for 3 - 4 hours and cover it with wet cotton cloth or sprinkle little water
  • Now take a kadai add oil heat it now add cumin seeds, curry leaves and chopped green chillies saute it for a minute

  • Now add Sabudana to this mix well add roasted and crushed peanuts, salt and mix well well for 2 to 3 minutes


  • Now add sugar, lemon juice and coriander mix well and cover it with lid for 3 - 5 min
  • Sabudana Khichadi is ready .....

Masala Buttermilk

Masala Buttermilk



Buttermilk is very refreshing and healthy drink for summers. Let's give a twist to our classic butter milk by adding ginger, sugar and tempering of asafoetida, curry leaves, cumin seeds....

Serves : 2

Preparation time : 5 - 7 min

Cooking Time : 0 min

Ingredients : 
  • 2 Cup curd
  • 2 Cup cold water
  • 8 - 10 Ice cubes
  • 1 Teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon black salt
  • 1 Teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 Teaspoon coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon curry leaves chopped
  • Pinch of crushed black pepper
  • Salt according to taste
For Tempering :
  • 1 Teaspoon oil
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/2 Teaspoon cumin seed
  • 1/2 Teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1 Teaspoon coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon curry leaves chopped
For Garnishing :
  • Few fried curry leaves
Procedure :

  • In a mixer take curd, cold water, ice cubes, sugar, black salt, ginger, coriander, curry leaves, black pepper and salt. Blend all the ingredients nicely

  • On the other side for tempering take a pan add oil . Heat it now add cumin seed and mustard seed. When they splutter add asafoetida, curry leaves and chopped coriander.  Add this tempering to your butter milk mixture

  • Masala butter milk is ready serve it with a few  fried curry leaves.

Chocolate Coffee Mousse

Chocolate Coffee Mousse


Serving : 4

Setting  Time : 3 - 4 hours

Preparation Time : 20 min

Cooking Time : 1 min

Ingredients :
  • 250 gm Dark cooking chocolate
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk
  • Few drops vanilla essence 
  • 1 Tablespoon coffee powder
  • 2 Cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 8 - 10 Marie gold biscuit
For Garnishing :
  • 1/2 Cup whipped cream
  • 1 Tablespoon chocolate vermicelli
Procedure :
  • First Combine the dark chocolate and milk and place it in microwave safe bowl and microwave it for 1 min. Remove this from microwave and mix it gently till it is smooth

  • Now in a bowl take whipped cream, vanilla essence and chocolate mixture, fold all these ingredients together


  • In a pan boil half cup of water and mix coffee powder to this keep it aside
  • Now take a serving glass. first of all take a Marie gold biscuit dip it in coffee mixture place it in a bottom of glass. Now repeat this step with other biscuits and cover the side of glass 

  • Now pour the chocolate mousse over it
  • Now refrigerate this for 3 to 4 hours
  • Before serving it add a spoon of whipped cream to it and garnish it with chocolate vermicelli...

Steamed Veggie Salad


Steamed beans, baby corn, corms, broccoli, capsicum served with a crunchy ice berg, onion and tomato. Coated with honey, lemon, olive oil and pepper.....  Is perfect for evening snacks or even for healthy and light dinner..... I use to make it for dinner to balance some heavy lunch.... You can also try .....

Serves : 4

Preparation Time : 10 min

Cooking Time : 10 min

Ingredients : 

  • Ice berg or salad leaf 1/2 cup
  • 1 Cup sweet corn
  • 1 Cup beans cut length wise
  • 1/2 Cup red capsicum
  • 1/2 Cup yellow capsicum 
  • 1 Cup broccoli 
  • 1/2 Cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 Cup sliced onion
  • Few mint leaves
For Dressing :

  • 2 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Teaspoon chilly flakes
  • 1 Teaspoon soya sauce
  • Salt according to taste
  • Pepper according to taste
Procedure :

  • First take a ice cold water in a bowl and keep the chopped ice berg or salad leaves in this water for 10 min so that it become crunchy 

  • Now chop all the ingredients and in a steamer add broccoli , red, yellow capsicum, beans, baby corn and sweet corn steam this for 5 to 6 min

  • Now for dressing mix all the ingredients mention above and keep it aside

  • Now in a salad bowl add chopped onion, tomato, chopped mint leaves, steamed vegetables and salad dressing and toss all together nicely

  • For plating take a salad dish serve churchy iceberg on it top it with our steamed vegetables

  • Steamed veggie salad is ready..... Enjoy it with a feeling of eating healthy and light....

Non Fried Bread pakora

We all love fried snacks. Bread pakora is all time favorite. But now a days we all are Living in a healthy eating and healthy cooking era. So fried is not an good option but still we want our bread pakora ..... What to do ??? No problem let's make it without frying it ..... My mom use to make this for us....

Preparation Time : 10 min

Cooking Time : 10 min

Ingredients : 


  • 2 Boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 8 Slice brown bread 
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 2 tablespoon fresh coriander chopped
  • 1/2 Cup green chutney
  • 1 Teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon dry mango powder
  • Salt according to taste
  • Chilly powder according to taste
For Batter :


  • 2 Tablespoon gram flour ( besan)
  • 1 Tablespoon rice flour
  • Water as required
  • 1 Teaspoon ajwain seed (carom seeds)
  • Salt according to taste 
  • Red chilly powder according to taste


For Cooking :
  • Cooking oil 2 tablespoon
Procedure :
  • In a bowl prepare a mixture for bread pakora. For that take a potato,  onion, cumin seed, green chillies, coriander, red chilly powder, dry mango powder and mix it we'll and keep aside


  • Now for batter take another bowl  add gram flour, rice flour, salt , chilly powder and ajwain seeds mix it nicely and now add water to this mixture  and prepare a smooth. Batter


  • Now take a bread slices apply green chutney on one side of bread slice now place a potato mixture on this bread slice cover it with another bread slice . Press it nicely
  • Repeat this step with other bread slices also
  • Now take a non stick pan or tawa heat it apply little bit of oil to it . Now dip your bread pakora in a batter cover it nicely place it on tawa cook it on low flame from all side nicely


  • Repeat this step with all other bread pakoras


  • Your non fried bread pakora is ready serve it hot with a cup of tea and enjoy monsoon ........

Masala Idlis

Masala Idlis


Masala Idlis are best way to use leftover Idlis. It's so yummy that you can even try it with fresh Idlis also. Masala Idlis are superb breakfast, it nice option for your kids tiffin even if you serve it to your guest they will be impressed .....

Preparation Time : 10 Min

Cooking Time : 10 min

Ingredients :
  • 2 Cup dissed leftover Idlis
  • 2 Tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 Tablespoon peanuts
  • 1Teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon urad dal (white lentil)
  • 1Teaspoon channa dal (bengal gram)
  • Few curry leaves
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 Green chilly chopped
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 Cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 Cup chopped tomato
  • 1/2 Cup chopped capsicum
  • 1 Tablespoon sambar powder
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt according to taste
  • Red chilly powder according to taste


Procedure :

  • Take a left over Idlis and cut them into  small pieces
  • Now take a pan add oil heat it. Now add mustard seed as it splutter add urad dal, channa dal, asafoetida, curry leaves and peanuts saute it.
  • Now add onions saute it then add chopped tomatoes cook it now add green chillies, salt, sambhar powder, turmeric and red chilly powder
  • Now add chopped capsicum cook it for a minute or two then add Idlis and mix gently. 
  • Make sure that all Idlis are nicely covered with masala if it looks dry just sprinkle few drops of water . 

  • Masala Idlis are ready. Serve it hot and garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy it with green chutney or coconut chutney
Tip : You can even add grated fresh coconut to this .
