Mutter dry fruit Kebab (green pea cutlet)

Mutter Dry Fruit Kebab (Green Peas Cutlets)

Time is for triple celebration as 6th March is Holi, a festival full of colours. 6 th March 2014 was the day which gave me an identity as food blogger so its my blog's first birthday. One more achievement is associated with it as today I posted my 100th blog post. So big three reasons to celebrate.

To celebrate these three good reasons I prepared a classy mutter kebabs filled with dry fruits cooked in pure ghee

Preparation Time : 15 min

Cooking Time : 10 min

Ingredients :

For Kebab Mixture :
  • 11/2 Cup blanched and blend green peas
  • 1 Cup boiled and mashed chana dal
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 1 Tea spoon cumin seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon chilly powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 Tablespoon bread crumbs
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped coriander
  • Salt according to taste
For Filling :
  • 2 Tablespoon raisins
  • 2 Tablespoon cashew-nuts
  • 2 Tablespoon green pistachio
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped green chillies
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped green coriander
  • 1 Tablespoon ginger julienned
2 Tablespoon pure ghee for shallow frying

Procedure :
  • First of all blanch and blend peas to paste
  • Boil chana dal and mash it to a coarsely grind paste and keep aside

  • In a pan, take 1 tablespoon cooking oil, add cumin seed and boiled chana dal. Cook it for 4 to 5 min, let it be bit dry now then add green peas paste to this and cook it for 4 to 5 minutes

  • Now add salt and all other spices and cook for 2 minute and transfer this in a bowl

  • In a mixture add chopped coriander leaves and bread crumbs mix it well and form a smooth dough

  • In another bowl add all the ingredients for filling (raisins, cashew-nuts, pistachio, green chillies, coriander, ginger)

  • Now take a portion of peas mixture on your palms flat it, fill it with the filling mixture and roll it into patties. Repeat this step with rest of mixture and form 10 -12 patties

  • In a pan add oil and shallow fry patties till golden brown.

  • Mutter dry fruit kabab is ready serve it hot with mint chutney and onion rings......

Tips : If looking for healthy option you can use normal cooking oil but if want to give it a royal classy taste cook it with pure ghee
